Celebrating the Stars Among Us

This spring, Education is Freedom celebrated high-achieving scholars—students who had worked tirelessly against the odds—and placed them in the spotlight they deserved. More than 100 exceptional EIF Scholars from over 40 high schools across Cedar Hill, Dallas, DeSoto, Garland, Grand Prairie, Lancaster, and Mesquite ISDs were awarded scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000. One Scholar was awarded EIF’s first-ever multiyear Hanan Ali Lacy “Carry the Torch” Scholarship.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and supporters, these EIF Scholars are now better positioned to pursue their college and career goals. Their investments helped remove financial barriers and opened doors to new opportunities for students across North Texas.

With support from people like you, EIF Scholars will be able to begin their college journeys with reduced risk of becoming sidetracked by financial worry and debt. We have learned that even a $500 scholarship can make the difference between a student persisting through their first year of college and dropping out.
