EIF has developed a custom workforce readiness curriculum to facilitate personal and professional development. Originally designed as training for the Mayors Intern Fellows Program, EIF’s workforce readiness curriculum has expanded to train students from middle to high school on career fundamentals and help prepare them for the workforce.

What topics does EIF’s workforce readiness training cover?
EIF hosts workforce readiness workshops on topics that are frequently omitted from middle and high school curriculums but are essential for students as they begin their careers. Some of these topics include:

  • Professional attitudes and behaviors
  • Communication in the workplace
  • Resume writing
  • Interview skills
  • Time management
  • Budgeting
  • Post-secondary education options

Regardless of whether students attend a 4-year institution after high school, enlist in the military, or transition to career and technical education programs, EIF’s workforce readiness workshops educate them on the expectations of the 21st century workplace.
