Joe Vonder Haar previously served as the vice president of the Convenience Store Channel and Military Sales for Anheuser-Busch, Inc. His responsibilities included management of the company’s national convenience store sales as well as sales to the United States Military.
Vonder Haar began his career in the beer industry in 1982 as a sales representative with an Anheuser-Busch wholesale operation in Sylmar, California. Next he served as a brand coordinator at the Stockton, California wholesale operation. Vonder Haar also held account executive positions in Anheuser-Busch’s Promotional Products Group and Metal Container Corporation, based in St. Louis.
In 1991, Vonder Haar joined the National Accounts team as zone sales manager for Michigan. In this position he worked to improve profitability, grow sales and increase market share. In 1992, Vonder Haar was promoted to region director for National Accounts, and in 1994 assumed the position of sales director, National Account Sales, Off-Premise.
In 2002, Vonder Haar became senior sales director, leading the 7-Eleven account team. He was promoted to his current role in August 2005.
Vonder Haar holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from The University of Dayton and a master’s degree in business administration from Southern Illinois University. He serves on the Supplier Board for the National Association of Convenience Stores, and is a charter member of the Global Supplier Board for the same organization. He serves on charity boards for Education is Freedom Foundation and Mid-Town Catholic Community Services. Vonder Haar and his wife, Lisa, reside in St. Louis with their three daughters.
